Lehigh Valley International Airport will host an airshow for the second consecutive year in August, officials announced this morning.
The dates are Aug. 23-24, and organizers hope to expand on last year’s success by bringing in more acts, including military aircraft.
Sequestration cuts to the military last year prevented military participation in the initial show. Those cuts are no longer in effect and organizers are reaching out to military bases to arrange appearances for this year’s show, according to officials.
The organizers say they have a plan in place to address traffic issues that plagued the first day of last year’s air show; all parking will be on site at the Hanover Township, Lehigh County, airport, and the organizers no longer plan to offer shuttle service.
Ticket prices and sale dates have yet to be finalized.
